Chinese premier to attend 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil, visit Egypt
China looks forward to working with all parties to consolidate the BRICS strategic partnership and hopes Chinese Premier Li Qiang's upcoming visit to Egypt will carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, a foreign ministry spokesperson said Wednesday.
Premier Li will attend the 17th BRICS Summit upon invitation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 5 to 8. At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Egypt Mostafa Kamal Madbouly, Li will pay an official visit to Egypt from July 9 to 10.
At a regular press briefing, spokesperson Mao Ning said the BRICS cooperation mechanism is the most important platform for solidarity and cooperation among emerging markets and developing countries.
Israel agrees to necessary conditions to finalize 60-day ceasefire in Gaza
U.S. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire to end the conflict in Gaza, and also urged Hamas to accept the deal.
"Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 Day CEASEFIRE, during which time we will work with all parties to end the War," Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
"The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to help bring Peace, will deliver this final proposal," said Trump.
He also urged Hamas to accept the deal. "I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better - IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE," Trump added.
Hamas says conducting consultations over Gaza ceasefire proposals
Hamas said on Wednesday that it is conducting consultations to discuss Gaza ceasefire proposals put forward by mediators.
The Palestinian militant group said in a statement that it is "acting with a high sense of responsibility" and holding consultations on the mediators' proposals to reach an agreement that ensures an end to Israeli aggression, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the delivery of urgent humanitarian relief to the Gaza Strip.
"The mediators are making intensive efforts to bridge the gap between the parties, reach a framework agreement, and begin a new round of serious negotiations," it said.
Iran's president issues order to suspend cooperation with IAEA
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has issued an order to enact a law to suspend the country's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Tasnim news agency reported on Wednesday.
The law calls for a suspension of cooperation with the IAEA until Iran's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its nuclear facilities and scientists are fully guaranteed, said Constitutional Council Spokesman Hadi Tahan Nazif.
Pezeshkian issued the order on Tuesday in a letter to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Supreme National Security Council, said the report.
Polish supreme court validates presidential election result
Poland's supreme court on Tuesday confirmed that Karol Nawrocki was elected president of the country in June.
"All of the circumstances clearly demonstrate that Karol Tadeusz Nawrocki garnered more votes than Rafal Kazimierz Trzaskowski during the second round of the vote," said Krzysztof Wiak, head of the supreme court chamber.
Nawrocki, an independent candidate backed by the opposition Law and Justice Party, received 50.89 percent of the vote in the presidential runoff, beating Trzaskowski, candidate of the ruling Civic Coalition and mayor of Warsaw, who collected 49.11 percent.
At least 4 die in barge capsizing in Gulf of Suez
At least four people were killed and another 22 injured after a barge capsized in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt's Health Ministry said Wednesday.
The injured have been rushed to local hospitals while rescue is still going on, the ministry said in a statement.
Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie said on Wednesday that the capsizing occurred in an area called Gabel El-Zeit, a prominent Egyptian oil production site around 209 km south of the Suez Canal.
