Putin announces three-day truce from midnight May 8Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday announced a three-day truce starting from midnight May 8 (2100 GMT May 7).The Kremlin said that Putin had ordered a full cessation of hostilities to mark the 80th anniversary of Russia's Victory Day, which falls on May 9.Russia called on Ukraine to join the truce, it said, adding that Russian troops would give "adequate and effective response" if Ukraine violates the ceasefire.Trump's approval rating hits lowest level in 80 yearsA poll conducted by ABC News, The Washington Post, and Ipsos showed that as U.S. President Donald Trump approaches the 100-day mark of his second term, his approval rating has fallen to the lowest level for any U.S. president at this point in office over the past 80 years.According to the poll, only 39 percent of respondents approve of Trump's performance in office, down six percentage points since February this year.
